Someone emails you a document to review. Open it in Notate, mark it up on any pages that need it, and send back only those pages, not the whole document.
Steps
-
In the sidebar, under Quick Access, tap Email Attachments. Your emails with attachments are listed, newest first.
-
Tap the attachment under the email to open it.
-
Tap Markup and mark up the page. For example, use Pen to circle a date, Text markup to highlight a sentence, and Comments to ask a question.
-
Go to any other page that needs attention and mark it up too.
-
Tap Share in the top bar and choose Share annotated pages.
-
Choose Email. A new message opens with a PDF of only the pages you marked up. Check the recipient, add a note and tap Send.
To send the pages with another app instead of Notate's email, choose Open In in step 6.
Good to know
-
To send back the whole document instead, tap Share and choose Share full document. Or close the document and choose Reply to email to reply on the same email thread.
-
Your markup stays on the document. When you close it, Notate asks whether to save it in a folder (Save As), reply with it (Reply to email), or Discard Changes.
-
If Flatten Annotations is on in Settings → Files, your markup is merged permanently into the pages you send, so the recipient can't move or delete it.
