For Microsoft 365 customers. Users see this message when they sign in to Notate before an administrator in your organization has approved it.
What users see
Why it happens
Notate needs permissions in your Microsoft 365 tenant, for example to open email attachments and to save files in OneDrive. Some of these permissions can only be granted by an administrator, once, for the whole organization. Until that happens, Microsoft shows every user this message instead of signing them in.
How to fix it
Have an administrator who can grant tenant-wide consent (for example a Global Administrator) do one of these:
-
Sign in to Notate once. Open Notate on any device, sign in with the administrator account, and accept the permissions request. This is the quickest way.
-
Grant consent in Microsoft Entra ID. Add Notate as an enterprise application and grant admin consent there. The steps are in Prerequisites and Microsoft Entra ID permissions.
After that, users can sign in normally. They do not need to reinstall Notate or change anything; they just try again.
The full list of permissions Notate requests, and what each one is for, is in Prerequisites and Microsoft Entra ID permissions.
